Two Kinds Of Websites You Probably Need

by DarrelHawes

A website is a good way to advertise your products and keep in touch with your clients. But first things first: what kind of website is it that you need?

Your first choice will likely be the format of the site. These days, the major choice is between a static site and a blog.

A static site is the kind that has been around since the internet began. The majority of websites are static sites.

However, blogs have become very popular over the past few years. This is due to the fact that they are a very casual alternative; they're very simply set up and maintained.

So, which is best for you?

You should know that many companies utilize both. They may have a primary, formal website and a blog for casual messages. Oftentimes the blog is separate from the main site.

If you're a beginner, you can't really go wrong with a blog. Wordpress and many other blogs are usually easy to create and maintain. You can always add a formal site later if needed.

Another advantageous aspect of blogs is that the content is separate from the blog's structure. So, you can experiment with the look and feel without effecting your blog posts or other content.

It's possible that a blog is all you need, as they can sometimes be set up to appear like a professional site.

If at all possible, you should spend a little time planning in advance what you want your site to look like in the future. Look at other successful sites in your industry and try to "deconstruct" them. Answer the question of why they are successful and emulate some or all of the features of those sites. You don't have to copy them, just creatively adapt to your own situation.
