How To Find What People Want To Buy

by DonLawson

One of the most complex stumbling blocks for new affiliate marketers is picking what to sell online. Many try product after product in an attempt to find something they can sell successfully online. Choosing a hot selling product to sell online isn't hard. With the advice below, anyone can find a hot selling product of their own to sell on the Internet.

The secret to becoming successful on the Internet is finding a product that is both high in demand and one that generates traffic. Actually, the commission payout is the last thing you should worry about. You can still make a lot of money with a low commission rate if you're moving a lot of product. I'm about to show you how to find those hot products that have a lot of people looking to buy it.

To start, make a list of the things you like and are passionate about. It has always been said that you can sell something you believe in. That's true. It's also true that it's very hard to sell something you know nothing about or have no experience in. This is why it's critical in finding something that you enjoy or are passionate about.

Start your research by visiting Yahoo and Google and using their traffic research tools. I use Google Trends to find the Hot Trends and look back months, if not years, to see how many people have been searching for this particular product or service that I'm thinking about selling.

Google Trends can be invaluable in determining how popular a service or product is. For starters, I want to see a steady or increasing search trend over the last few months, if not years. This tells m the product has legs and has stood the test of time. If the search trends point downward for a long period of time, I start looking for a new product to sell.

The section you want to look for in Yahoo is Yahoo Buzz. This section tracks the most searched for terms of the previoius week or month. It will also tell you whether or not your term is on the rise or tapering off. Personally, I prefer Google Trends for seeing if the product is on fire or cooling off. To find it, go to buzzlog.buzz.yahoo dot com. Play around with it a while to really find the best niche products that are hot.

Experienced affiliate marketers will visit ebay in their search for a hot selling product. Go to Ebay Pulse to find the products that are the most searched for on Ebay. You can even drill down through the categories to find which product is the hot seller in your niche. Once you have several ideas, take them back to Google and Yahoo and run them through their paces.

Finding a hot selling product is not hard. You just have to know where to look in order to find them. Picking an affiliate product just because it has a high payout is a sure fire way to fail. Pick something you know about and then research it to see if there is a demand for it. This way you'll have the confidence to stay the course until you see the fruits of your labor pay off.
